Biography

Simon Mclean MA PGCE FHEA MRICS is a Chartered Building Surveyor. He presently works for the School of the Built Environment at the University of Salford as a specialist lecturer in Building Surveying, focusing mainly on issues relating to building surveying practice, and historic environment conservation.

In addition to his academic duties, and providing editorial services to RICS, he is the current editor of the journal of Building surveying. He has academic publications in the fields of building surveying practice and pedagogy, which facilitates the teaching of building surveying skills alongside academic knowledge.

Company biography

The School has been leading the research agenda in the built environment for more than 20 years, continuously rated top in the national Research Assessment Exercises.

They provide Continuous Professional Development (CPD) opportunities and work closely with professional institutions such as RIBA, CIAT, CIOB and RICS in the provision of CPD and professional training in general. In addition they provide consultancy services of high value across a variety of sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, the public and the private sectors.
