Summary

Very frequently, an apparent defect in a building is not just a simple symptom caused by a single fault, and correcting that defect it is not just a case of applying a remedy from details set out in a book. The perception and viewpoint of a client and their relationship to the building is significant. A book on defects can only go a certain way to describing the physicality of common defects, this section helps to develop a framework from which resolutions can be crafted, and explains how these resolutions can be negotiated to a satisfactory result.
