Conservation and restoration

This section examines the approach that surveyors should take when working on heritage-protected sites. Changes to the relevant UK legislation and policy are described, before going through the different aspects of obtaining approval, including formulating a proposal, applying for consent and helping clients seek funding for conservation and restoration to sites and buildings of historic interest. Key to the approach is gaining and using knowledge of a site's or building's heritage; to aid this approach an extensive list of resources is provided.
