Energy is vital to modern life. It is the fuel we use to power our:

  • public institutions and
  • transport systems.

We depend on it for our health, safety, national security and for the economy.

But the energy industry is facing major challenges, including climate change, increased demand, economic stability, and threats to national security. 

The engineering and construction industry plays a vital role in meeting these challenges. Not only is it a major user of energy itself, but it can also maintain and optimise existing assets by innovating, designing and building the infrastructure we need for the future.
