It provides guidelines for taking reservation fees. It also considers property misdescription, and what estate agents should know, and do, to avoid breaching consumer protection legislation.

This section originates from the PRS and constitutes its opinion based on its work as a government-approved redress provider. The PRS is a consumer redress scheme for property agents and property professionals. There are currently two schemes and each has its own approach. This section represents the PRS approach. This material provides generic advice to help RICS members exercise their professional judgment in particular circumstances.
