Biography

Russell Newman AMIMA MIOD is a mathematician with over 25 years of experience working in risk management and assurance on major projects and programmes in the UK and overseas.  He is currently the Head of Strategic Advice for Mace having recently been the Head of Corporate Risk and Assurance with responsibility for the risk consultancy in Mace and its internal risk and assurance process. He has been working in projects and programmes for over 25 years in a variety of roles from operational research analyst at Sellafield, Managing Director and Chairman of a DS+A a specialist risk consultancy to the Head of Risk for Mace Ltd.

Russell is a recognised leader in risk management and assurance for major programmes and has held several high profile leadership roles on some of the biggest and most diverse projects in the UK and overseas including as Head of Risk Management for 5 years for the London 2012 Olympics, the Head of Risk and Assurance at the London Legacy Development Company, the Head of Risk and Assurance for the Hinkley Point C New Nuclear Power Station in Somerset and the Head of Independent Assurance for the Strategic Heritage Plan for the upgrade of the Palais Des Nations, the United Nations Headquarters at Geneva.
