Biography

Nigel Goddard MRICS APMP MAPM MIoD is a chartered building surveyor and qualified Project Manager, a member of the Association of Project Managers and a member of the Institute of Directors. He has over 35 years of construction professional services experience in Private Practice, Local Authority and Commercial Organisations, gained both at senior levels and as project director on several significant urban renewal and regeneration projects within London.

He is chair of the Buildforce Alliance Advisory Group (BAAG), a collaborative industry-led programme, with an objective to reduce skills gaps in construction. He co-founded the Urban Legacy CIC in September 2016, which was developed from innovative solutions Nigel has been leading to meet strategic CSR outcomes for many Local Authorities within construction procurement and delivery on major projects.

He served for 7 years as an Army Reservist with 33 Engineer and 101 (City of London) Engineer Regiments, and is a committee member of 101 (City of London) Engineer Regiment (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) Regimental Association. He has also been a Business Governor and Chair of the Audit Committee of a College of further education, and chaired the Construction Advisory Group at the college. He has authored technical articles on a range of topics in construction, building surveying best practice and maximising Social Value within construction delivery.
