Peter Defoe, PrD(BE) DipArb FRICS FCIArb MCQI CQP, is Partner and Business Systems Manager of calfordseaden, a multi-disciplinary practice based in Orpington, Kent. He has published articles in various RICS publications, including Chartered Surveyor Monthly (now the RICS Business magazine), on issues relating to information technology and quality assurance storage. He is the author of the RICS Electronic Document Storage guidance note, published in 2003, and has also written for Gee Publishing and Whispers (the organ of the Pyramus & Thisbe Club) and Emerald (Structural Survey) on the validity of daylight calculations in rights to light cases.

Most recently, he was co-author of the RICS guidance note Rights of Light and contributed to the latest version of the BRE Guidance on Site Layout Planning for Daylight and Sunlight.
