(a) The epicentre of a failed toughened glass pane: note the butterfly shape at the epicentre of the cracking, the nickel sulphide particle is visible to the naked eye as a small black dot between the two centre dice.
(b) The broken faces of the epicentre of the cracked glass: the particle is just visible as a small black dot in the centre of the top half of each dice.
