Negligence in valuations and surveys
Summary

The defendants carried out a mortgage valuation inspection of a house in the north of Scotland. They were held negligent for describing the house as 'concrete block built, harled', when it was in fact a 'Dorran' type, constructed of thin precast reinforced concrete panels bolted together, which would be an extremely difficult property to resell.
