Summary

A contractor built a number of residential properties for a developer. The contractor was held liable to a tenant of the developer when, on completion, a reinforced concrete canopy collapsed on top of the tenant's wife. The contractor owed a duty of care to the tenant and other occupiers of the properties to take reasonable care to avoid causing injuries through defective work.
