Summary

These proceedings arose out of a personal injury sustained by the claimant following a fall in communal showers installed in the first defendant's foundry. It emerged that the type of tiling used for the works was particularly slippery. The third party was a firm of engineers who were responsible for preparing the design and specification of the shower room. The engineers had made prudent enquiries prior to putting together the specification, including the investigation of RIBA project sheets, trade brochures, and consultations with a specialist flooring firm. On the facts, they were not found to have been negligent.
