Record details

The older light switch on the timber backing is one problem but I would be more worried about getting an electric shock from the light fitting when I switched it on.
figure2.11 This combined light with a heating element is in the bathroom of an older bungalow. Current regulations require light fittings to be fully enclosed in most bathrooms so this falls well below current safety levels
This fabric-covered wire is tucked away in the roof space of a detached house built in 1981 where the rest of the wiring is in PVC. Clearly a DIY-addition using some vintage cable, it is unlikely to be supported by appropriate certification and could be a safety risk to the occupants.
