Peter Vincent was a Founder of Smith Vincent & Company, Chartered Mineral Surveyors, which merged with Matthews & Son in 2000. Following a period as a consultant to the merged firm he has now retired, having been engaged in the minerals and waste industries for more than 40 years. He is the author of a number of papers relating to the minerals and waste management industries and of a student's textbook on the law affecting mining operations and continues to write on these topics. He is a former president of the Minerals Division of RICS.
