John Newton (BSc, MSc, CEnv, MCIEEM) established The Ecology Consultancy in 1999, building it up to an organisation that currently employs over 60 permanent staff across 4 offices. John has over 40 years’ experience of working on ecological issues including as an in-house environmental manager for a property development company and working with construction contractors. He also has extensive experience of both the public and voluntary conservation sectors and was previously Deputy Director (Conservation) of the London Wildlife Trust.
John has expertise across the full range of ecological surveys and in a variety of situations from strategic planning to small construction sites. He has acted as an expert witness on a number of public inquiries and provides training on ecological issues to a variety of clients. He is also a special advisor to CEEQUAL.
