Biography

Chris Hart FRICS is a specialist in UK property taxation. While with the VOA he devised and codified HMRC's method of apportionment for capital allowances in second-hand buildings.

Subsequently a partner in GVA Grimley, Chris now practices on his own account providing specialist consultancy services to a variety of corporate, professional and individual clients including Unilever PLC, Diageo Plc, Nellsar Ltd and Guinness.

Chris is also a consultant to the specialist tax practice Tax Action and is Vice Chairman of the RICS Taxation Policy Panel. He lectures extensively on taxation subjects and has appeared on both Radio and TV for RICS and has represented RICS before Parliamentary Committees. He has written articles for Taxation Magazine, Codicil, The Estates Gazette and Property Week, and a Handbook on SDLT together with the late Tony Johnson. He is a member of the Stamp Taxes Practitioners Group.
