Continuing professional development (CPD) is a commitment by members to continually update their skills and knowledge to remain professionally competent and achieve their true potential. It is necessary for growth and development of surveyors at all levels. All RICS members must carry out and record online a minimum of 20 hours’ CPD activity each calendar year. Of the 20 hours, at least 10 hours must be formal CPD. The remainder can be informal CPD.
Many different activities can qualify as CPD. Deciding on what is relevant is up to the individual because learning is based on personal assessment. RICS and isurv offer members various opportunities to carry out learning as part of their CPD.
RICS is currently updating its CPD information and the most up-to-date content will be on isurv shortly. For immediate information, please go to the RICS Regulation CPD page.
