Commissioning environmental assessments

Commissioning environmental assessments

The types of environmental services required by chartered surveyors and other real estate advisers, are becoming more numerous and wider in scope and depth as environmental matters become of ever greater importance in real estate practice, corporate transactions and construction development.

It is important to establish the difference between an investigation and an audit before commissioning the appropriate report. Legal issues relating to investigations and audits will have far reaching consequence and must be considered carefully.

The practical aspects of selecting, appointing and using environmental consultants themselves (which may include specialist chartered environmental surveyors) are also considered.
