Mediation for planning

Mediation is an alternative method of dispute resolution. It is about settling, or at least reducing, differences between parties  at any stage of a dispute; or where negotiations have stalled.

It can be used as an additional tool to those currently available in the planning system for resolving conflict: consultation, negotiation and judicial review. It uses processes and techniques to settle differences between parties and can be applied to applications, appeals, section 106 negotiations, compulsory purchase and many other areas of conflict and disputes in planning and development.

This section is maintained by Ben Aspinall, a civil commercial mediator and Managing Director at AspinallVerdi – Property Regeneration Consultants.
