Infrastructure: what's new?

As part of RICS' response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its effect on the built environment, each isurv channel has moved to a rolling update cycle to ensure content is as up to date as possible. This page will be updated with new updates to reflect the changing situation as it develops.

RICS has also released guidance in the form of our Beyond COVID-19 guides, available on isurv. Of particular importance to infrastructure may be Beyond COVID-19: Inspections and visits for non-domestic properties.

Cost reporting on major programmes

This section has updated material on Cash flow reporting and BIM 5D modelling.

Infrastructure planning and development

For this update, subsections on Water and Business and commercial (including airports and ports) have been expanded.

Project Bank Accounts

Author Lloyd Biddell has updated his section to reflect the introduction of the Small Business Commissioner and Late Payments etc Bill and  Construction Policy Note CPN 7/2019, as well as expanding information on proprietary software.

There have been updates throughout this section to reflect the effect of COVID-19 on working practices.

Author Peter Greenhalgh has updated to reflect the newest version of BS 5975 and the impact of COVID-19.
