Biography

Stewart Perry is a partner in the Restructuring and Insolvency group at Fieldfisher and is a well-known and highly respected expert in his field. He is the chair of the R3 General Technical Committee, a member of R3's Council and a member of the consulting editorial board of LexisNexis PSL. He was the 2017 TRI Corporate Restructuring Lawyer of the Year.

Stewart is known for his technical acumen, and is therefore regularly instructed on the more complex insolvency law points. As such, his clients are predominantly insolvency practitioners and receivers.

In October 2020, Stewart orchestrated the design, development and launch of a new Standard Form CVA intended for use by SME companies whose businesses have been affected by COVID-19, in collaboration with R3 and Peter Walton, Professor of Insolvency Law at the University of Wolverhampton, who is also a member of R3’s General Technical Committee. The standard form CVA was very well received by the insolvency industry and its launch was covered by The Times, Accountancy Daily and SmallBusiness.co.uk.

Stewart is regularly quoted in the international, national and industry press on trends in insolvency and changes in UK policy regarding insolvency and restructuring.
