Water Resources Act 1991

An Act to consolidate enactments relating to the National Rivers Authority and the matters in relation to which it exercises functions, with amendments to give effect to recommendations of the Law Commission.

The Anti-Pollution Works Regulations 1999 prescribe the contents of anti-pollution works notices served under section 161A of the Water Resources Act 1991, the procedure to be followed in relation to appeals against such notices and the compensation for rights of entry in connection with anti-pollution works paid under section 161B.

They also amend the Control of Pollution (Applications, Appeals and Registers) Regulations 1996 so as to prescribe the particulars of such matters which are required to be placed on the pollution control registers maintained by the Environment Agency.

The Water Resources (Environmental Impact Assessment) (England and Wales) Regulations 2003 complete the implementation, in relation to water management projects for agriculture in England and Wales, of Council Directive 85/337/EEC on the assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment (O.J. No. L175, 5.7.1975, p.40), as amended by Council Directive 97/11/EC (O.J. No. L73, 14.3.1997, p.5).

The Water Resources (Environmental Impact Assessment) (England and Wales) Regulations 2006 amend the 2003 Regulations (S.I. 2003/164), which extend to England and Wales.
