Commercial Market Survey 2009 (RICS)

Activity in the commercial property market fell further in Q1, although the pace of deterioration in demand moderated across all three sectors.

In Q2 after two years of declining activity the figures pointed to some stabilisation in demand, particularly in the office market.

Lettings activity for business property moved higher in Q3, for the first time in over 2 years. Net balances for enquiries, demand and confidence turned positive for the first time since Q2 2007 with the office sector the most improved.

Lettings activity for commercial property moved higher in Q4, for the second consecutive quarter. Net balances for enquiries, demand and confidence picked up at a faster pace.
