Summary
This section outlines the process, benefits, limitations, and key legal issues surrounding vendor surveys. The concept of a vendor's survey report is not new, although the ranging debate that has surrounded the introduction of Home Information Packs has, in some quarters, cast the idea in an unfavourable light. Whilst the issue has generated strong opinions as far as domestic sales are concerned, the commercial markets have embraced the concept and vendor's survey reports are rapidly becoming the norm. Many large commercial deals are completed with the assistance of a full vendor's survey upon which the eventual purchaser may rely.
